Following on from the success from the Batman & Catwoman decoupage comic frame, I had plenty of ideas of other designs. (Click the link to see the frame: We're Not Afraid Of The Dark, We Come Alive In It (wixsite.com))
These were made for a couple of friends of mine as gifts - one of them loves Spider-Man and the other is a huge My Little Pony fan.
I found some comics where I work and purchased a couple for each design. I took some images and quotes from the comics which I felt suited the style and shape of the frame.
Then I begun testing out the images - seeing where they'd fit and what would look best.
I did one side at a time of each of the frames, starting from the left side of each frame. I stuck them on using a watered-down glue substance.
While waiting for each side to dry, I started decorating the other frames. Then I moved onto the top part of the frame, then the right hand side and the bottom. This meant they all had more drying time and it allowed me to finish them all at the same time.
To make the frames more personal, I decided to add photos into the frame - sticking them onto a black background, then adding some art to them. Please excuse my quick fix "editing" skills - I was just covering the photos.
They came out better than I could have hoped for, and they were received well too!
I can't wait to make more!
I am now waiting on the warmer weather to come back as it makes the process a lot quicker and easier as the warmer weather ensures a quicker drying time.
